Yabu, of North American interior design firm Yabu Pushelberg, oversees the creation and development of all design components for each of the firm’s projects. In his conceptual leadership role, Yabu reviews and refines the details of each project with respective design teams. Raised in Toronto’s historic Cabbagetown neighborhood, Yabu received his Bachelor of Applied Arts in Interior Design and his Honorary Doctorate degree from Ryerson University in Toronto.
Founded in 1980 by George Yabu and Glenn Pushelberg, Yabu Pushelberg has created distinctive signature environments for a diverse and often high profile clientele within the specialized retail, hospitality, and restaurant sectors.

With studios in New York and Toronto, the design studio is divided into 7 teams comprised of design and project management personnel specializing in luxury design.
The firm has been honored with the James Beard Foundation Award for excellence in restaurant design.
