For over 30 years, Firestone has cultivated her personal passion for design, operating an international interior design firm and assembling a portfolio that includes the world’s premier 5-star hotel brands, boutique hotel proprietors, and luxury estate-homeowners. As chairman and founder of sfa, Firestone has led the firm to complete acclaimed projects from the Four Seasons Los Angeles to the Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi. On each project, Firestone oversees the creative process from concept to completion. Her “couture concept” for interiors allows Firestone to capture her client’s distinct vision.

In 1976, Firestone accepted a position at Design 1, a Los Angeles firm, which she led to become the sixth largest design firm in the U.S., with offices in Hong Kong and Paris. In 1996, Firestone turned her focus towards creating a boutique-style firm large enough to execute projects on a grand scale, but personal enough to provide the direct attention required of each client. The result is Santa Barbara, California-based sfa design, where Firestone works on projects from luxury yachts and tropical resorts to urban boutiques and sheltered estates.
