As the senior vice president of design and architecture for MGM Hospitality, Van Assche is responsible for leading all design efforts for MGM Hospitality projects worldwide across both technical services and development management agreements.

Recently, as vice president of design for MGM Mirage Design Group, Van Assche ensured that quality standards were maintained, and managed both new development and capital improvement projects. As vice president of design for CityCenter, he led the overall design management of the project master plan and concept, all aspects of interior design and architecture, and architecture design consultants. He also oversaw the quality assurance and control of the project’s design and construction implementation.

Van Assche joined MGM Mirage Design Group in 1995 as an architectural project manager for Bellagio. In 2000, he was promoted to director of design and subsequently vice president of design for the design department. He was responsible for overseeing capital improvement projects including the Zumanity and KÀ theatres, and all food & beverage, retail, casino, and guestroom remodels at MGM Grand, New York New York, Bellagio, Bellagio Spa Tower, the Mirage, Treasure Island, and Beau Rivage properties. Additionally, Van Assche developed conceptual designs with MGM Mirage Development for new property proposals globally.
